Our weekends are made even sweeter now that tvN’sHometown Cha-Cha-Cha” (also streamed on Netflix) is here to cap off our weeks with kilig moments from the famous dimple couple.


ICYDK, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is a Korean rom-com that revolves around a dentist from Seoul named Yoon Hye Jin (Shin Min Ah) and small-town jack-of-all-trades Hong Du Shik, played by our resident “good boy” Kim Seon Ho.


The series has achieved its highest ratings yet on Sunday, September 26, with episode 10 achieving an 11.4% score, snagging the top spot among other dramas in the same timeslot in South Korean television and setting a new record for the show. It also stays strong on number 2 among Netflix’s “Top 10 in the Philippines” list. Additionally, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” has been given a 9.1/10 score on IMdB.

This drama has provided us with comfort and healing during a time where everything seems hopeless. It’s the warm hug we all need after the anxieties of a stressful work week, and Shin Min Ah’s portrayal of Yoon Hye Jin is proof that there will always be hope for things to get better.

Her real name is Yang Min Ah



Born in 1984, Yang Min Ah was in middle school when she took a picture with her friends during a school picnic. The photo was then sent to a famous teen magazine called “KiKi”, where she was chosen as a model.


She began her career as a model



Min Ah started modelling in 1998 for KiKi Magazine, but soon after, she started doing shoots and gigs for notable brands such as LG and Giordano. She even went to Milan for a magazine spread for Elle Korea in 2009!


She also appeared in K-Pop music videos in the early 2000s. These include “A Request” by Lee Seung-hwan, “Since You Left Me” by g.o.d, “I Love You” by Cha Tae Hyun, and many more.




She later became one of the highest paid commercial endorsers in South Korea.

Remember when you were in elementary school, and right after your bus drops you off, Koreanovelas would be playing on TV? Well, “My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho” was that show.

It aired on free television in the Philippines back in 2011 and became every teenager’s after-school-while-eating-merienda telenovela.


Shin Min Ah acted alongside Lee Seung Gi, where she plays a nine-tailed fox from Korean Mythology. “My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho” became such a hit that it won nine out of the 11 awards it was nominated for!

Our multi-talented queen also sang in the original soundtracks of the shows and movies she starred in. For her 2003 television series “Punch”, she released “Oppa, I Love You” and “Pray for Yoo-bin” as part of its OST.


In the early 2010s, she released “Sha la la” (My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho OST) and “Black Moon” for the historical drama “Arang and the Magistrate.”

Min Ah and Woo Bin shot a campaign for Giordano in 2015, and their chemistry brought them together in real life. Since then, the couple has been going strong and are approaching their sixth year of being together.


In 2017, the “Uncontrollably Fond” actor was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, and his agency released a statement announcing that Woo Bin would be postponing his projects to focus on his treatment. The Internet went crazy when Soompi reported that Min Ah was accompanying him to hospital visits and medical appointments.

Min Ah has been called the “CF Queen” of South Korea, along with Miss A’s Bae Suzy and Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun. Her countless TV commercials and branded shoots are proof that she’s one of the country’s most in-demand models!


In fact, a 2013 report by Soompi says, “Although Shin Min Ah did not make any TV appearances, she made 3 billion won (approximately $2.8 million). She recently purchased a house without spending money on anything else.”
