Remember their names.
In case you haven’t heard of TikTok, it’s a mobile app that all the “cool kids” love. Aside from making viral songs shoot up the Billboard charts, it has also made budding content creators, now known as “TikTokers,” widely popular.
In an exclusive interview with OneLife.ph, Tiktokers Niko Badayos, Billy Basilisco, and Yukii Takahashi, who appear on TV as TV5’s Sing Galing! SingTokers, talk about their beginnings and how they are changing Gen Z content one viral video at a time.

Spending most of her days bored at home during the early months of the quarantine was instrumental to Yukii’s TikTok journey. She created a TikTok account and tried out some dances to pass the time, completely oblivious to the possibilities it would bring. “Para may reason akong bumangon, mag-ayos, magpaganda, mag-work out.
Yukii received brand deals (and more than 6 million TikTok followers) in a span of a year, but she reveals that being in showbiz was not always a part of her plan. Before the pandemic, she was in senior high school dreaming to become a doctor.
“That time pina-plano ko talagang maging doktor, gusto ko kasi maging dermatologist.” She shares that she wanted to take up biochemistry in college, but plans shifted when the pandemic happened.

Like Yukii, Niko’s TikTok career started during the quarantine.
Niko graduated from his Operations Management program before the pandemic began, so he is now able to focus on his showbiz career full-time. Now with almost 900,000 followers on TikTok, he reveals that social media really changed his life.
Without TikTok, Niko says that he would not have the opportunities he has now.

Billy is an aspiring policeman on his final year in college. He started making TikTok dance videos as a way to work out when he’s not at the gym, without knowing that he would gain a million followers. And although he does not have a background in dancing, Billy believes that his skills have gotten better through the app.
When asked what he would be doing if he wasn’t a TikToker, Billy answered that he would still be taking online classes.
Family at the center of it all
Niko, Billy, and Yukii have achieved a lot in just a span of a year, and they have their family’s love and support to thank for it.
Billy is grateful that his family believed in him since day one.
As for Yukii, she says that she would not be where she is now if not for her Yukiinatics. “’Yung Yukiinatics na laging nandiyan para sa akin through ups and downs. Kapag may bago akong ganap lagi silang naka-abang, sinusuportahan nila ako kahit through online.
Fans of Niko, Billy, and Yukii are probably hungry to know more about their idols. Here are interesting tidbits about their personal lives that they shared with OneLife.ph so you could get to know them on a deeper level.
“Ang tawag talaga sa akin pati friends ng nanay ko ay ‘Yukiipooki’,” Yukii says with a laugh. It was a funny nickname that her closest loved ones gave her when she was young.
But when it comes to secret nicknames, Billy has the most extravagant of them all. “Kapag close friends tayo, tatawagin mo akong ‘Totoy.’ Kapag sa social media, ‘King.’ Kapag feeling close tayo, ‘Badbad,’” he says, earning a series of laughter from Yukii and Niko.
The trio became close friends when they were chosen to be the “Singtokers” for the 2021 revival of Sing Galing!, TV5’s videoke reality game show.
Yukii admits that their friendship is one of the reasons why they are having a lot of fun. Masaya at thankful ako dahil lahat ng staff sa Sing Galing! ay super approachable at talagang inaalalayan nila kami every step of the way.”
Sometimes, Billy still can’t believe that he is able to work with the actors he had always looked up to.
On love life
Like most of us, the trio has had their fair share of failed relationships and puppy love.
“I had my first relationship at the age of 17,” says Yukii. “We lasted almost two years.” Niko and Billy also had relationships before they entered showbiz, but they ended after a year or so.
“Ideal guy ko kasi is more on personality, gusto ko ‘yung taong maintindihin at kagaya ko na Christian at malaki ang puso niya sa lahat ng tao,” Yukii reveals. As for Niko, his ideal partner is someone who’s family oriented, a goal-getter, and understanding.
But at the end of the day, what matters is that their partner loves them for who they are.
Looking forward to the future
The past year has turned their lives upside down, and the future holds even more possibilities. In five years, Niko hopes that he could establish a business of his own. “I can see myself five years from now, gusto ko may-ari na ako ng isang restaurant, or may business na ako,” he shares. “’Yun kasi talaga ‘yung gusto ko eh.”
Yukii sees herself on billboards all over EDSA. “Magandang i-claim na natin para law of attraction! In five years, isa na akong sikat na artista!” She wants to be an amazing performer who gets to travel all over the world. We’re rooting for you, girl!
As for Billy, his dream to be a police officer remains: “One year na lang po, makakapag-apply na ako.” He says that right after he graduates college, he will automatically apply to pursue his dream.
A year ago, these three individuals were just like us: bored out of their minds and looking for ways to pass the time. Who knew they would be enjoying this kind of popularity down the road? And though fate may have opened opportunities for them, ultimately the success they are enjoying is a fruit of their dedication, kindness, and hard work – and it is what will keep them there.
